{"id":70,"date":"2023-03-11T00:27:47","date_gmt":"2023-03-11T00:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rghuenemann.com\/?page_id=70"},"modified":"2023-07-19T03:32:45","modified_gmt":"2023-07-19T03:32:45","slug":"sbcwaterinfo-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rghuenemann.com\/index.php\/sbcwd-wrasbc\/sbcwaterinfo-2\/","title":{"rendered":"SBCWD Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Robert Gilchrist Huenemann March 24, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I ran for the San Benito County Water District <strong>(SBCWD)<\/strong> in 2014 and was elected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 1, 2016 I voted against raising your water rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I ran in 2018 and got 2929 (32.50%) of the votes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I ran in 2022 and got 2022 (46.53%) of the votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>SBCWD<\/strong> has an annual budget of 15 million dollars. You pay most of this through your water bill (your water company &#8216;buys&#8217; your water from <strong>SBCWD<\/strong>) and from your property taxes (0.25% of the assessed value of your land). The property tax shows up on your tax bill as <strong>SB WATER &#8211; SAN FELIPE<\/strong>. If you rent, your landlord pays this tax and adds it to your rent. You pay most of the bill for <strong>SBCWD<\/strong>, but agribusiness gets most of the <strong>SBCWD<\/strong> water. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbcwd.com\/\" title=\"\">Click HERE to see SBCWD propaganda.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Water Resources Association of San Benito County (WRASBC)<\/strong> is part of the <strong>SBCWD<\/strong>. You cannot tell this from looking at either website. The <strong>WRASBC<\/strong> has an annual budget of $350,000. You pay most of this. The <strong>WRASBC<\/strong> uses your money to tell you that you cannot have a patch of lawn or a toilet that actually flushes. You have seen their ads.
